Facilities

Humm has a 45m squared live room with 3.5m high ceilings, a dedicated amp and vocal booth, and an acoustically treated control room all designed by Tony James, associate member of the Institute of Acoustics. The studio is fully air conditioned.

We offer the use of our wide range of vintage guitars & amplifiers, drum kits and other instruments alongside our selection of high-end microphones and outboard gear. A detailed equipment list can be found here.

Control Room

Control Room

Built around an Audient ASP8024 HE 24 channel console, the control room is the heart of the studio. Extensive connectivity between all rooms means any signal can be sent anywhere.

Alongside the consoles preamps and EQ sections there is some excellent outboard including pieces from Heritage Audio, Empirical Labs, Teleger & Stam Audio.

The control room is designed to be flexible and intuitive with quick systems in place for reamping guitars and getting experimental with outboard FX. All the synths and keyboards are all patched in, turned on and ready to record at the push of a button.

Humm has a dedicated secondary monitor screen linked to the monitor screens in the live room and booth, operating a >1ms response time. Useful for any audio to visual work.

This room retains the relaxed and comfortable nature of the rest of the studio, with sofas, armchairs and a kitchenette. Every room is air conditioned.
